Transforming Customer Experience for NSW's Air Quality Live Information
Developing a real-time information portal for the citizens of NSW is a challenging task. The portal needs to provide accurate and up-to-date information that is easy to understand and interpret. It also needs to be engaging and user-friendly, as well as secure and protect the privacy of users.
The portal needs to pull data from a variety of sources and process it in real time. It also needs to communicate scientific pollutant terms and thresholds in a way that is understandable to the average citizen.
We talked to 50 stakeholders and users, and surveyed 200 people to gain insights into the how air quality information was used, which culminated in a report of findings, wireframes, visual design, style guide, and technical approach, all while considering responsiveness, accessibility, and the NSW Digital Design System.
This project demonstrates our experience consulting with users, designing potential solutions to test, running interviews and usability tests and producing a NSW Government-ready design system and technical specification that was ready for implementation.
