World Health Systems Report

The challenge was to create a set of static maps about health systems research collaboration between countries, which focuses on the difference in collaboration between high, medium and low income groups. The maps show a lot of collaboration between high and middle income groups, compared with relatively little between high and low income groups.

Creating several maps from the same data

Three static maps were created automatically using custom code. This allowed us to turn on and off particular categories of collaboration to ascertain the best representation for the data.

Prototyping

The advantage of prototyping with custom code allowed us to see that showing all collaborations at once was far too complex. This lets the client to see what the data would look like before design and final implementation even started:
